Gond Bird with Tree Painting · Gond Art

Painted by artists of the Gond community of central India, whose art grew out of wall paintings made for festivals and rituals. Gond artists build their forms from fine lines, dots and dashes, filling trees, birds and animals with pattern and movement.

Shown here in a play of many colours. Chosen piece by piece for Saptadhārā.
