Mitti Dabu Print Cotton Dress Material
Rs. 2,500.00 INR
Dabu is a mud-resist technique: artisans press a paste of clay, gum and lime onto the cloth with carved blocks, dust it with sawdust and dye it, so the resisted areas stay pale. The result is a soft, slightly crackled pattern that only handwork can give.
Shown here in brown, in cotton. Chosen piece by piece for Saptadhārā.

Caring for it
- Dry clean for the first wash; afterwards gentle hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent.
- Dry in shade and iron on the reverse at low heat, never directly on zari or print.
- Store folded in muslin, away from damp and direct sun.
Every length is printed, dyed and dried by hand. Made by hand, so small irregularities are a mark of the maker, not a flaw.
